TOGETHERNESS
A project was done in collaboration between Temasek Polytechnic and Darul Ihsan Orphanage.
Darul Ihsan Boys' Orphanage make part of the Muslim Trust Fund Association Funded in 1904 by
a group of gentlemen who aimed to provide quality care, maintenance and education the
the orphanage, creating a naturing environment that not only buildings character but also promotes
excellence.
This project is to renovate and upgrade the building into a better place where more social
interaction will take place through the existing and new spaces and programmes implemented to
the residents of this orphanage. Uses of advanced technology and urban gardening are introduced
within the building.
A quick site analysis done as a group of 6, how the sun,wind,temperature and rain affecting the site location.
Human traffic circulation and vehicle circulation comparison on weekdays (day/night) and weekends (day/night)
The different views and vista surrounded the site location of the orphanage.

Design Development
Broken Shattered Glass into pieces.
Each pieces represents an individual in this ophranage. Each individual has their own story. Broken family or feeling broken.
However, these broken shattered glass can be put back together but it would not be prefect as initial form but with it getting together will improve each individual life slightly better than before.
Using Kapaline to show how shattered glass into the building form.
FINAL DESIGN
Focus on the boys' dormitory more than the overall orphanage. Experience taking the tiles, glass and metal for the material board. Manage to get laser cutting to show the geometric shape on the windows on the selected area. Detail drawing on how aluminium wall cladding is being installed.
